Profile: I'm a graduate of Mississippi State University and a National Board Certified Teacher. This is my 25th year to teach. My husband, Donald, and I have been married for 34 years and are active members of Andrew Chapel United Methodist Church. Our son, Brandon, graduated from Northeast High School and Mississippi State University and is a computer-programming specialist. We have two dogs, Jenny and Missy, and we love going to flea markets and auctions.
Course Goals: My intent is to not only introduce new concepts and ideas to my students but to also make learning relevant by showing them when, where, and how they will use skills learned in school today in their jobs in the future. Research, critical thinking, multi-step problem solving, and the use of higher order thinking skills are just some of the tools we use daily to solve real-world problems in our quest for being all that we can be. My classes produce The Trojan Spirit, our school newspaper, each nine weeks and actively participate in The Stock Market Game just to name two of the many projects or activities of which my students use to broaden their horizons!
