I am from Millport, Alabama. I graduated high school, with honors, from South Lamar High School in 1991. I received a Bachelor of Music Education degree from University of West Alabama in 1995, and a Master of Education from Auburn University in 1997. I began teaching at Northeast Middle School in 1998.

My goals for teaching fine arts are to expose the students to different kinds of music, produce competent musicians and singers, and to share life lessons. I insist on teamwork and working towards a common goal.

In my recorder and band classes, we work each week on reading music and performing. We have a playoff test every other week and the students must complete a practice log every week. My band and choir classes perform concerts In December and in April. My 7/8 Grade band also plays at each of the home football games.
