Profile:

I have lived in the Meridian area all my life.  I was a graduate of Northeast High School in 1998.  I have a Bachelor's of Science in Elementary Education from Mississippi State University, and I am highly qualified in Math and Social Studies for grades 7 – 12.  I was married March 8, 2008 to Corey Martin, and we had our first child on December 6, 2009.  Her name is Madi Lynn.  We have a yorkie named Kela.  I enjoy spending time with friends and family, and I love the beach!

 

 

Goals:

Pre-Algebra:

ü  Apply concepts and perform basic operations using real numbers in real-world context

ü  Apply properties to simplify algebraic expressions, solve linear equations and inequalities, and apply principles of graphing

ü  Identify and apply geometric principles to polygons, angles, and two-and three-dimensional figures.

ü  Understand measurable attributes of objects and apply various formulas in problem solving situations.

ü  Interpret, organize, and make predictions about a variety of data using concepts of probability

 

Algebra:

ü  Understand relationships between numbers and their properties and perform operations fluently

ü  Understand, represent, and analyze patterns, relations, and functions

ü  Understand how algebra and geometric representations interconnect and build on one another

ü  Demonstrate and apply various formulas in problem-solving situations

ü  Represent, analyze, and make inferences based on data with and without the use of technology

 

** All students score Proficient or Advance on State Test! **

 

Procedures:

Each day, students will have a warm up assignment to review skills learned the day before.  Students will take quizzes every three to four lessons and chapter tests.  Homework will be checked daily and will count as one quiz grade each nine weeks.  All graded papers should be found in the back of each student’s notebook.
